Sometimes, assembling a shelving unit, trolley or workbench from scratch can be a bit of a challenge. That’s why we provide detailed instructions and make everything as easy as possible. If you need a helping hand when assembling some shelving that you’ve purchased from Ractem, you can check our comprehensive collection of PDF instructions, which make the assembly process a walk in the park.

How to assemble shelving and workbenches

From our metal shelving for businesses, warehouses and garages to our tyre and garment racks—here, you’ll find documents for all our products, including Ractem’s workbenches and trolleys. We also clearly detail the tools you’ll need for the assembly process for each product. At the top of each document, we explain whether the assembly is boltless or whether you need a rubber mallet, a screwdriver, gloves and/or a fixed spanned (and specify its size). Using diagrams, we also explain the right and wrong way to put together your product, so that you can enjoy your new purchase without any issues. Additionally, where a product lets you install additional bays, the instructions will include a step-by-step explanation.

Things to remember during assembly

Adding shelving and storage systems to your facility or warehouse helps you to optimise your space, without making any aesthetic concessions.

However, before you start to assemble any of our shelving units, you should check for obstructions (cables, pipes, etc.) on the walls and floor, as these may cause problems further down the line. For example, if you need to drill to install anchor bolts, you’ll need to know where your shelving is going and to make sure it fits in that space.
