The Picking Tyre Rack has been specifically designed to help repair workshops and garages store tyres. The key feature of this warehouse racking is its strength, as it has been engineered to support a considerable load, allowing you to organise and access your tyres with ease.
The Picking stands out, even amongst our excellent range of tyre racks, on account of its solidity and versatile shelves, which can be adjusted in 50mm increments to let you store tyres of different sizes.
You can also choose the height of your rack (up to 3 metres) and pick from two easy-on-the-eye finishes: blue and orange or blue and grey. Additionally, you can customise the depth of your shelving and the number of shelves, which means you can tailor it to store different types of tyres, depending on what you need.
The epoxy paint also helps to protect your shelving unit from environmental factors and wear over time. On top of that, as an added safety measure, each Picking Tyre Rack comes with bolts to anchor it to the floor.
You can install Picking bays individually or as part of a row of racks. In the latter case, you’ll need a starter bay and as many extension bays as you would like.
What’s the difference between a starter bay and an extension bay?
- Starter bay: This type of bay is composed of 4 uprights and as many levels as you would like. It can be installed independently and does not necessarily need to be connected to another bay. It is always the starting point for a row of bays.
- Extension bay: This type of bay is composed of 2 uprights and as many levels as you would like. It is always installed alongside another bay, with which it will share a set of uprights, as shown in the image below.
Please note that, in order to create a row from a starter bay and several extension bays, all bays must have the same depth, although the height and width can be different.
To calculate the total length of the row, you should add 160mm to the width of the starter bay and 50mm to each extension bay in the row. As an added security measure, we recommend anchoring the bays to the floor using the bolts included with each shelving unit. Additionally, we recommend leaving a gap of 100mm on either side of the row.
